AI for Product Discovery and Strategy

Product discovery and strategy are changing quickly in the age of AI. In this live, hands-on course, you will learn to use generative AI as a practical partner for uncovering customer needs, analyzing markets, exploring opportunities, and making better-informed product decisions.

Through applied exercises, you will turn research, feedback, data, and early ideas into clearer insights and strategic direction. The goal is not to replace product judgment, but to accelerate discovery and help teams move from uncertainty to action.

This course is ideal for PO's, Product Managers, BA's, Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, and others involved in product discovery, strategy, or product development.

Participants earn the non-expiring microcredential. No exam.

Key Details

Turn customer signals into product direction,
with AI as a discovery partner and human judgment in charge.

Use AI as a Co-pilot

Generative AI is changing how product teams understand customers, frame opportunities, and decide what to build. In three practical hours, learn to use AI for market analysis, customer insight synthesis, hypothesis framing, and strategic planning; while keeping product vision, prioritization, and stakeholder judgment in human hands.

Hands-on Workshop

Bring a real product, market, or strategic question. Leave with AI-augmented artifacts you can use immediately, including a vision draft, opportunity framing, a synthesized view of customer signals, a reusable Custom GPT tuned to your product, and a working prompt library for ongoing discovery.

Bonus Session

Stay for the 45-minute bonus session: an extended prompt lab on your real product or strategic question, with peer review and trainer coaching. The three-hour core earns the credential; the bonus session helps you apply it to your own product.

Discounts

Options for your situation

Request your discount on the session (a class on date/time with a trainer) you want. If more than one discount applies explain in your comments.

You can pay in installments by choosing Splitit at checkout.

For Grow-Lean Alumni, log in or use your account email when registering, and receive an automatic discount. If you also qualify for another discount, request it, and, if your email matches, we know you are an alumni.

If you have a Visa or Mastercard credit card you can pay in monthly installments. There are no fees or interest if you pay on time! Your available credit must be enough to cover the full cost and there is a hold on your credit card for the amount that you have not paid.

For example, if your final fee is $999 and you choose three installments:

  • You would pay $333 today and have a $666 hold placed on your credit card.
  • The following month your credit card would be charged another $333 and the hold would be reduced to $333.
  • Your final payment would be $333.

If you are not familiar with the term "hold" this is similar to what hotels do when you check in, to cover extra expenses you may incur including the mini bar.

The benefit to you is that you do not pay any interest or fees if all payments are on time.

Agenda

Seven hands-on AI sections.
Plus a 45-minute bonus lab.
You apply AI to real discovery and strategy tasks.

1
AI Tools for Product Discovery
  • Survey the categories of generative AI used across discovery and strategy work.
  • Match the right kind of tool to the right kind of discovery task.
  • Decide what to keep human, what to delegate to AI, and what to do together.
2
Prompt Engineering for Discovery and Strategy
  • Learn the prompt patterns that move a draft from generic to market-specific.
  • Use role, context, evidence, and constraints to control AI output.
  • Iterate prompts the same way you iterate hypotheses: small steps, fast feedback.
3
Build a Custom Discovery Assistant
  • Build along with the trainer to assemble a Custom GPT (or equivalent) tuned to your product, market, and strategy context.
  • Load it with your context: positioning, personas, vocabulary, evidence, and quality bars.
  • Walk away with a reusable discovery assistant your team can extend.
4
AI for Market Analysis and Competitive Research
  • Use AI to scan markets, segments, and competitors faster than spreadsheets allow.
  • Draft and stress-test positioning, target-audience definitions, and SWOT-style summaries.
  • Recognize where AI is recycling old data instead of reasoning about your actual market.
5
AI for Customer Insights
  • Use AI to synthesize interviews, support tickets, reviews, and survey responses.
  • Surface themes, jobs-to-be-done, and behavioral patterns without losing the original voice.
  • Spot what's missing in the data and what AI is filling in with assumptions.
6
AI for Vision, Hypotheses, and Opportunity Framing
  • Draft and stress-test product vision statements, hypotheses, and lean canvases with AI as a critique partner.
  • Frame opportunities in business and customer terms, not just feature terms.
  • Keep strategy decisions human; learn where the AI's confidence is least trustworthy.
7
Validation, Forecasting, and Responsible Use
  • Use AI to design lightweight experiments, scenario models, and validation plans.
  • Spot hallucinations, bias, and false confidence before they shape a strategy decision.
  • Apply practical guardrails for data privacy, IP, and customer information.
+ 45 MIN BONUS
In the bonus time, use AI to simulate customer interviews, pre-test positioning, and pre-validate strategic bets; apply the core workshop's prompt patterns to your real product or market; and get peer review and trainer coaching on your prompts and outputs.
Note
The agenda is paced to participants and the products they bring. Sections may be lengthened or shortened within the three-hour core so the most useful material gets the most time.

1
Sign up early
Create your account before class so you don't miss the hands-on lab.
2
A free account is fine
Even if you stay on the free plan, please set up an account before class so we can walk through configuring it together.
3
Upgrade if you hit limits
Free plans keep shrinking — tighter usage caps and fewer features over time. If you get throttled during the lab, upgrade for a single month and downgrade after.

What Sets This Apart

A live discovery & strategy workshop driven by AI.

Not an AI tutorial dressed up as a product course.
Practical & Real
A three-hour live workshop taught by an actively practicing product leader, with a 45-minute bonus session built in for working AI against your real product or strategic question. The difference shows up in the prompts you write, the outputs you keep, and the judgment calls you make about when AI helps and when it quietly misleads you.
Your Product Context
You bring a real product, market, or strategic question. You leave with AI-augmented artifacts for it, including positioning, synthesized customer signals, a sharpened vision, and framed opportunities, plus a Custom GPT tuned to your context that you can keep using after class.
Product Judgment First
Product judgment comes first, AI second. Prompt patterns are only as good as the discovery and strategy thinking behind them, and this session is built around vision, opportunity framing, customer insight, and strategic decisions rather than generic AI examples.
